How to Volunteer

  • Step 1: Read about the different types of volunteering on offer. 1) DUSVO 2) Colleges 3) Volunteering platform
  • Step 2: Register as a volunteer on the platform
  • Step 3: Contact the relevant organiser to find out what training you might need to begin volunteering. All volunteers are required to complete the volunteering induction. You can access this here. The link will take you to blackboard, log in, click the submit button when shown, then click ok. This will enrol you onto the organisation required to complete the training.

Working with Children?

If your volunteering opportunity involves working with children, you must complete the online safeguarding course here and send a screen grab of the completed course to [email protected]. The link will take you to blackboard, log in, click the submit button when shown, then click ok. This will enrol you onto the organisation required to complete the training. If your project requires a DBS check, your project manager will reach out to the student volunteering coordinators to arrange this for you.

Working with Adults at Risk?

Please complete the adult safeguarding training and send a screenshot of the completed course to [email protected]. The link will take you to blackboard, log in, click the submit button when shown, then click ok. This will enrol you onto the organisation required to complete the training.

Accessing or Processing Personal Data?

If your volunteering opportunity involves accessing or processing personal data please complete the online data protection training course and send a screen grab of the completed course to [email protected].

Are you interested in a tutoring project?

We are in the process of creating tutor training on Oracle learning, until this is available online please ask your project manager when the next session of tutor training is.
