Types of Volunteering
Here at Durham we have ways for staff and students to be involved in volunteering. Below you will find outlines of the opportunities you provide. However, if you are (or want to start) volunteering with a different opportunity, we’d love to hear about and you can still record your hours on our platform. Get in touch with [email protected] to find out more.
DUSVO – Durham University Student Volunteering and Outreach (DUSVO) comprises the University’s centrally-managed student volunteering groups, called Projects.
College – Durham University’s Colleges run their own volunteering initiatives for their students and staff, often with their own dedicated groups that may collaborate with wider volunteering and DUSVO.
Opportunities for all – We want everyone to take part in volunteering! Staff and students can both volunteer with many projects across the city, with flexible opportunities both during and outside of term time.
Sport – The Sport Volunteering we offer covers coaching both within the city and abroad, enriching lives and promoting sport for all.
Groups – Student Groups and Societies often support volunteering around the city outside of DUSVO, college volunteering and sports volunteering, although often working in collaboration. Such groups are based in the Student’s Union.
