As a community partner<\/a> we can provide support to you by sharing your volunteering opportunities on our volunteering platform<\/a>, which we currently have over 1000 staff members and over 5000 students signed up to. We can share your opportunities in our volunteering newsletters as well as on social media pages. You can be added to our community partner mailing list to receive emails re upcoming events (fairs, awards etc) and any other exciting opportunities to collaborate. We are always looking to build relationships with new charities\/organisations\/schools!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Please email us on community.engagement@durham.ac.uk if you are interested and include the following information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once we receive your information we will set up an introductory meeting (in person or via teams). <\/p>\n\n\n\n Durham Foodbank (The Trussell Trust)<\/p>\n\n\n\n We currently run monthly volunteering sessions with Durham Foodbank (based in Chester-Le-Street). These sessions allow staff members from across the university to take part in tasks such as sorting donations, putting together food parcels and helping Foodbank keep up to date with paperwork. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Over 250 staff members have volunteered with Durham Foodbank since 2021 (stat published on 1\/2\/24) and over 1000 hours have been contributed to volunteering in their warehouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Throughout November 2024, staff, students and community groups contributed food donations, to the annual Festive Food Drive, with the total collection weighing in at 1,233.07kg. To put this achievement into context, this is the approximate weight of a Mini Cooper car!
